More About David Hochfelder

Throughout David’s career he has been critical in the investment of more than $3 billion of real estate acquisitions. He is passionate about investing in various areas of New York to help them reach their full potential, and he has held roles at real estate lending platforms and real estate private equity funds.

David Hochfelder was recently appointed as the Executive VP and Head of Acquisitions at Naftali Group, LLC, where he is responsible for sourcing, structuring, and the execution of the firm’s property and credit investments. Before he began working at Naftali, David worked as the director of acquisitions at RFR Holding. At RFR, David played an integral part in executing over $2 billion worth of property acquisitions and investments spread across the retail, residential, hotel, and office sectors. Before his work at RFR, David was employed through The City Investment Fund, which was a real estate private equity fund where David was in charge of underwriting as well as executing the fund’s acquisitions. Prior to The City Investment Fund, David began his career with The Lightstone Group where he worked as a financial analyst in charge of supporting the company’s countrywide investments, both property and credit.

During analyst positions with Park Avenue Funding / The Lightstone Group and The City Investment Fund, David analyzed equity investments in multifamily, hospitality and retail properties and underwrote $3 billion in prospective equity and debt investments (both existing assets and ground-up development), respectively. This experience has shaped his unique and well-informed perspective on the prospective values of properties of all types.

Because of his keen eye for real estate, David Hochfelder also looks for property investments outside of New York; he is now active in a number of gateway markets, such as Boston, Washington, D.C., and Miami. He is always looking for new opportunities to source and track new investment opportunities in real estate.

David graduated cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania with a B.A. in Philosophy, earned his MBA at Columbia Business School and went on to earn an M.S. in Real Estate from New York University.
